Short Brief/Requirement: To comply with the Council's financial policies and requirements. To manage and deliver an effective technical accounting service and all services within it. To manage the technical accounting team. To ensure the council is compliant with accounting standards, CIPFA guidance and government regulations. To manage and deliver an effective VAT and tax service. To provide clear, insightful and compliant reporting on all matters related to the function, including Treasury Management policies and position, capital strategy and capital programme monitoring, including impact on funding and borrowing requirements.
Job Requirements:
- At least 2 years experience working as a Chief Accountant or equivalent.
- Full Professional accountancy level qualification (CCAB).
- Experience of team management.
- Managed all aspects of team performance including goal setting and performance review.
- Experience of recruitment and selection of team members in accordance with relevant policies and legislation.
