Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a public sector client based in Bristol, are looking for an experienced Project Surveyor to join their team and play a crucial role in their Planned Programmes, Repairs & Maintenance, Homes & Landlord Services
Position: Project Surveyor
Rate: £300 per day (Umbrella)
Contract Duration: Temp (Aug 2027) Possible Extension
Working Arrangement: Onsite
Purpose:
- To manage and deliver one or more construction projects or work programmes across the City, ensuring high‑quality repairs, improvements, and maintenance to the Council’s housing, buildings, and land.
Job Responsibilities:
- Undertake inspections, surveys, and condition assessments of dwellings, buildings, and land.
- Diagnose defects, specify remedial works.
- Measure works, order materials, and prepare statutory applications (Building Regulations, Planning, etc.).
- Produce feasibility studies, site appraisals, and technical reports.
- Manage projects end‑to‑end, including programming, site supervision, reporting, and quality assurance.
- Administer contracts under JCT forms, including valuations, variations, and certification of payments.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, governance records, and job files.
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
- Degree, HNC, or equivalent construction‑related qualification plus relevant practical experience, or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through significant experience in building, surveying, or a similar construction environment.
- A professional qualification in a Surveying or Construction-related subject, e.g. RICS (Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors). CIOB (Chartered Institute of Builders).
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
