Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a local authority in Bristol, are looking for an experienced Group Accountant to join their team and play a crucial role in their financial operations.
Position: Group Accountant
Location: Bristol
Rate: Β£500 a day (Umbrella)
Contract: 12 months (Possible Extension)
Duties:
- Lead the Collection Fund accounting function, including agreeing debt impairment and appeal provisions, preparation of forecasts, surplus and deficit calculations.
- Provide financial information, analysis and statutory reporting outputs relied upon by preceptors, regional authorities and external partners.
- Lead the preparation, validation and submission of statutory returns including NNDR1, NNDR3, CTB1, CTR1 and WGA inputs.
- Drafting and presenting reports on the analysis and interpretation of financial performance and actual changes to legislation for budget holders.
Job Requirements:
- CCAB (or equivalent) qualified accountant, or able to demonstrate equivalent experience.
- Experience of resolving technical accountancy issues within a local authority or similar organisation.
- Significant experience of Collection Fund accounting, statutory returns and local authority financial reporting.
- Specialist knowledge of Collection Fund accounting, business rates retention arrangements and council tax accounting.
