The role involves managing a caseload of Legal Expenses Insurer matters, alongside exposure to non-contentious employment work. There is also potential scope for supervising junior case handlers, depending on experience. Key Responsibilities Advising clients on potential Employment Tribunal claims Managing a caseload of Employment Tribunal matters, including: Drafting pleadings and witness statements Negotiating settlements and advising on settlement agreements Instructing counsel or advocates where required Ensuring compliance with Legal Expenses Insurer service level agreements Assisting with non-contentious employment matters, including: Drafting employment contracts, handbooks, and related documentation Providing reactive and proactive employment advice to commercial clients Telephone-based employment law advice Contributing to marketing and business development initiatives, including: Writing employment law updates Delivering client training sessions Ensuring accurate, timely, and commercially focused advice Progressing files via a case management system Time recording, billing, and invoicing Skills & Competencies Essential: Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or FCILEx Strong interest and passion for employment law Commercially minded with a practical approach to problem-solving Excellent attention to detail Strong communication and time management skills Ability to manage cases independently, with appropriate supervision Collaborative team player Ability to prioritise workload and meet strict deadlines Organised, proactive, and positive approach Experience Required Previous employment law experience or demonstrable employment law knowledge Experience managing an employment law caseload The Firm The firm is a well-established national practice providing legal services to both businesses and individuals.
