Summary
We are hiring a Staff Solutions Architect (Remote, based in London, United Kingdom) to own and grow the DACH territory. Partner with sales, product, and engineering to help prospective and existing customers design, validate, and scale mission‑critical systems on Temporal.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as a strategic technical advisor to Sales Account Executives, assisting with scoping and sizing opportunities for the DACH region.
- Lead customer discovery to understand architecture, constraints, and success criteria, mapping those to Temporal-based solutions.
- Design end‑to‑end reference architectures that demonstrate how Temporal fits into existing services, data stores, and infrastructure.
- Build high‑impact demos and technical narratives that clearly show how Temporal solves real customer pain.
- Run deep technical workshops, whiteboard sessions, and proof‑of‑concept engagements with engineering and architecture teams.
- Provide hands‑on guidance on best practices for workflow and activity design, testing strategies, and operationalization of Temporal in production.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks in customer projects, escalating and collaborating with Product and Engineering as needed.
- Capture and communicate customer feedback and feature requests into Product, influencing roadmap and prioritization.
- Contribute reusable assets for the field: reference architectures, example workflows, solution playbooks, and enablement content.
- Represent Temporal in customer meetings, executive briefings, and at community events or conferences in the DACH market.
What You’ll Bring
- Several years of experience in customer‑facing, technical pre‑sales or post‑sales roles such as Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, Field Engineer, or equivalent.
- Strong background in designing and operating distributed systems or cloud‑native applications, with deep understanding of reliability, scalability, and failure modes.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, outcome‑focused narratives for both technical and business audiences.
- Proficiency in building application prototypes and providing design, development, build, and deployment guidance using one or more of Temporal’s supported languages: Java, Golang, TypeScript, Python, C#, Ruby or PHP.
- Practical experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure) and common infrastructure components (networking, messaging, observability, CI/CD).
- Proven track record partnering with sales teams on strategic accounts, including technical evaluations, proof‑of‑concept stages, and production rollouts.
- Experience working with or advising large customers in DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), navigating complex stakeholder environments.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship‑building skills, earning trust with senior engineers and technical leaders.

- Experience working with Temporal or similar workflow/orchestration, event‑driven, or durable execution systems.
- Experience in a high‑growth, developer‑focused infrastructure or platform company.
- German language skills are highly preferred but not essential; strong English communication in written and spoken form.
- Familiarity with patterns such as event sourcing, CQRS, microservices, and data‑intensive or low‑latency systems.
- Experience speaking at meetups, conferences, or producing technical content (blogs, videos, or sample code) for developer audiences.
Compensation
Estimated pay range: £165,000 – £185,000. Base salary and variable role with a 70/30 split. Eligible for Temporal's equity plan.
