Our client is an award-winning, long-established, specialist procurement and sourcing organisation, supplying a range of Industrial, Mechanical and Electrical products across the globe. Due to continued business growth, they are looking for a Procurement Officer, with some experience in Procurement/Purchasing and with a desire to learn and develop within the sector.
To be effective in this role, you need to have a keen interest in Procurement, possess strong organisational skills and have a strong aptitude for learning. This is an interesting multi-faceted role, which offers variety and requires a range of sourcing and procurement responsibilities to be executed to support clients with their procurement needs. Please note, we are looking for someone who has experience of Sourcing a range of items, not just Procurement experience. This will ideally be within sectors such as IT, Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical.
Key Features of the role:
- Responding to procurement tenders with PQQ's and timely submission of tender proposals to clients
- Sourcing items for customers via a range of suppliers and obtaining quotations and delivery information
- Prepare, implement, and execute procurement process, including contract negotiation work with finance team throughout the procurement cycle to assist in the payment to suppliers and receive payments from clients
- You will be involved in researching contracts and tenders for Government ministries; in particular health, education, IT, office supply, emergency supplies
- Communicating with international clients with requests for quotations, and sourcing relevant suppliers; developing commercial awareness to drive project success
- Intense use of Excel for raising quotes, Pro-forma and commercial invoices.
Skills/Experience needed:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a commercial Sourcing & Procurement role is required
- Please note, we are looking for someone who has experience of Sourcing a range of items, not just Procurement/Buying experience.
- Organisational and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads
- Strong commercial acumen, with an interest in International Business
- Good communication, both written and verbal
- Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Attention to detail and able to produce work of an accurate nature
