We are currently recruiting for an Intensive Housing and Support Officer on behalf of one of our valued housing sector clients. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced housing professional who is passionate about supporting vulnerable individuals to maintain stable accommodation, improve their wellbeing, and achieve greater independence.

About the Role

As an Intensive Housing and Support Officer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality housing management and tenancy sustainment services to vulnerable tenants living in supported accommodation. You will work closely with tenants, local authorities, social care professionals, and external agencies to ensure positive tenancy outcomes while maintaining compliance and property standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of properties and tenants, ensuring tenancy agreements are upheld and sustained.
  • Conduct regular property inspections, risk assessments, and health & safety checks.
  • Monitor rent and service charge accounts, proactively managing arrears and supporting tenants to access welfare benefits.
  • Provide person-centred tenancy support to individuals with complex needs, including mental health conditions, learning disabilities, and physical disabilities.
  • Work collaboratively with local authorities, social workers, healthcare professionals, and support providers.
  • Manage incidents, complaints, anti-social behaviour, and tenancy breaches in line with company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records, case notes, reports, and compliance documentation.
  • Coordinate tenant move-ins, move-outs, and void property management processes.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Essential

  • Experience within housing management, supported housing, supported living, or a similar environment.
  • Experience supporting vulnerable adults with complex needs.
  • Experience managing rent arrears and knowledge of welfare benefits such as Universal Credit, Housing Benefit, and PIP.
  • Strong understanding of tenancy management and tenancy sustainment.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and case management systems.

Desirable

  • Experience in intensive housing management or supported accommodation services.
  • Experience working alongside local authorities, social care teams, and external agencies.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, risk assessment, and housing compliance requirements.
