We have an excellent opportunity to join a progressive and forward thinking Freight Forwarding company who are steeped in history and have a reputation for high quality and service excellence. They are looking for team members to join their operations team, in a role which offers variety and a stimulating and challenging work environment.

You will be working from beautiful offices in a new building in Central Harrow and as part of a successful team; you will be expected to carry out the following tasks:

  • To co-ordinate and ship cargo via airfreight to the UK and other parts of the world.
  • Maintain all files ensuring they are costed and billed correctly.
  • Issuing the airway bills and export Custom clearance.
  • To provide an operation service to meet the customer's needs in a cost-effective manner.
  • Negotiation with Carriers.
  • Providing Quotes.

The role interfaces with:

  • Airlines
  • Couriers
  • UK/Overseas Clients
  • UK/Overseas Agents
  • Warehouses at LHR, Feltham

RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBJECTIVES

  • To build and increase clientele through completing a range of business activities relating to Logistics and Freight movements.
  • To ensure accuracy in paperwork and documentation.
  • Maintain all files ensuring they are costed and billed correctly.
  • Issuing the airway bills and export Custom clearance.
  • To provide an operation service to meet the customer's needs in a cost-effective manner.
  • Negotiation with Carriers.
  • Providing Quotes.

Minimum competencies required for this position:

  • Level 4 General Airfreight Awareness/or equivalent qualification.
  • Dangerous Goods by Air Certificate.
  • Radioactive Materials by Air (Not Essential, but highly desirable).
  • PC Literate - Excel, Word, Access & Outlook.

Personal Qualities:

  • Good eye for detail.
  • Highly organised, with strong prioritisation skills.
  • Knowledge/Experience of the industry.
  • Knowledge of Airport codes.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience of NES entries.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Effective Time management.
  • Good influencing skills.
  • Knowledge of IPR/OPR systems.
  • E-Customs knowledge.
