We are recruiting on behalf of a Housing Association that provides high-quality housing, care and support for the Elderly, with a strong reputation for delivering safe, comfortable and supportive homes. The catering team is responsible for delivering prepared meals in line with Hygiene and Health and Safety standards.
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen.
- Excellent culinary skills with the ability to prepare a wide range of dishes.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation.
- A passion for cooking and creating innovative meal options for customers.
- An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, or willingness to do this.
- Employment vetting, including references and full work history.
- Food Safety Level 2 or 3, with a willingness to be further trained.
- Professional and the ability to work with various backgrounds and cultures.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards.
- Assist in the development of new menu items, ensuring creativity and seasonal relevance.
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in the kitchen at all times.
- Oversee kitchen operations, including inventory management and ordering supplies as needed.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal preparation and service.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in food preparation techniques and safety practices.
- Monitor food quality during preparation and presentation, ensuring consistency across all dishes.
- Assist with special events or catering services as required.
