Overview
We are recruiting for an experienced Freight Test Manager with a strong background in the shipping industry and maritime operations to support a major transformation programme within the Oil & Energy sector. This role will lead the end-to-end testing strategy across a large-scale implementation covering Marine Logistics, Freight Trading, and Energy Supply Chain systems, including both standard platform capabilities and bespoke, custom-built solutions. You will play a critical role in ensuring operational readiness across complex trading and logistics processes, including marine chartering, voyage execution, bunker management, and financial settlement. Operating at programme leadership level, you will provide independent, evidence-based assurance, ensuring the solution is fit for purpose in a live trading and operational environment.
About IMOS
IMOS (Integrated Maritime Operations System) is a specialist platform developed by Veson Nautical, widely used in the oil, energy, and shipping industries to manage end-to-end maritime and freight operations.
Core Functional Coverage:
- Vessel chartering (time charter, voyage charter)
- Voyage planning and execution
- Freight trading and economics (P&L)
- Bunker fuel management
- Demurrage and claims
- Financial settlement and invoicing
- Reporting and analytics
Key Responsibilities
- Own and lead test strategy & governance
- Deliver large-scale UAT aligned to real-world operations
- Ensure quality across custom builds and IMOS platform
- Lead end-to-end integration testing across trading, finance, and logistics systems
- Drive defect management and prioritisation
- Provide go-live readiness and assurance
Key Requirements
- Proven Test Manager experience within Oil, Energy, Commodities, or Shipping
- Strong knowledge of marine logistics and freight trading
- IMOS experience highly desirable
- Experience delivering SIT, UAT, and end-to-end testing at scale
- Strong stakeholder engagement and ability to challenge at senior level
