- Senior React & .NET Technical Lead Opportunity
- 6-Month Contract | Hybrid (London Waterloo)
We're seeking a highly experienced Senior React & .NET Technical Lead to join a major transformation programme, helping drive the migration of an existing application into a modern React-based architecture.
This is far more than a traditional development role. You'll play a key part in defining the technical vision, shaping architecture, leading the migration strategy, establishing infrastructure and deployment pipelines, and mentoring engineers throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Initial 6-month contract
- Strong extension potential up to 3 years
- London Waterloo
The Opportunity
You'll be leading the migration of an existing application currently running within a Databricks environment to a scalable, enterprise-grade React and .NET solution.
The successful contractor will combine hands-on engineering expertise with technical leadership, taking ownership of solution design, delivery approach, and team guidance.
You'll be joining an established engineering function of around 12 engineers and will play a critical role in driving best practices across application development, architecture, DevOps, and modern software delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the migration from Databricks Apps to a React-based application
- Design and architect scalable end-to-end solutions
- Build and modernise React front-end applications
- Develop and enhance .NET backend services
- Define deployment, infrastructure and CI/CD strategies
- Make key architectural and technical decisions
- Mentor and support junior developers and engineers
- Collaborate closely with data engineering teams
- Drive technical excellence throughout the programme
Strong commercial experience with React
Strong backend engineering expertise with .NET
Proven experience leading technical projects, application modernisation or migration initiatives
Ability to design, architect and deliver end-to-end solutions
Experience establishing infrastructure, deployment processes and CI/CD pipelines
Strong stakeholder communication and technical leadership skills
- Data-focused environments and platforms
- AI-enabled development practices or AI-driven solutions
- Node.js
- C#
- Java
- Trading or financial markets experience
Ideal Background
We're particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate experience:
- Leading application transformation or modernisation programmes
- Building complex React applications from the ground up
- Designing and developing enterprise .NET services
- Owning architectural decisions across the full technology stack
- Creating scalable deployment and DevOps frameworks
- Mentoring engineering teams and influencing technical direction
- Working alongside data engineering and analytics teams
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is someone who can confidently say:
"I've taken applications from legacy architectures, designed the target-state solution, established the React/.NET technology stack, implemented deployment strategies, and led engineering teams through successful delivery."
If you're a senior hands-on engineer who enjoys combining architecture, leadership and development expertise while helping shape a long-term strategic programme, we'd love to hear from you.
