Project Manager – Energy Trading | Databricks

Our client, a global energy trading company, is seeking a highly capable Project Manager to oversee the delivery of complex data and technology initiatives, with a strong emphasis on Databricks and cloud-based data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead and deliver strategic programmes, projects, and workstreams within a robust project controls and governance framework.
  2. Track and manage project performance across scope, schedule, cost, and quality, taking early action to address risks or variances.
  3. Collaborate with stakeholders across trading, operations, IT, and external partners to ensure project alignment and value realization.
  4. Design and implement effective change and engagement strategies to support business adoption and maximize benefits.
  5. Facilitate alignment and timely decision-making across business and technology stakeholders.
  6. Mobilize, manage, and lead multidisciplinary teams, ensuring the right skills, capacity, and experience to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  7. Maintain compliance with project governance, risk, and assurance standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Skills & Experience

  1. Proven experience delivering large-scale IT and data projects as a Project Manager.
  2. Hands-on experience with Databricks or similar cloud-based data platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
  3. Strong understanding of project governance, risk management, and compliance practices.
  4. Experience working in complex, matrixed global organizations.
  5. Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  6. Prior experience within energy trading or other highly regulated industries.
  7. Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery methodologies.
