Templeton & Partners are urgently seeking a highly experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Trading & Supply division. This is a hands-on, business-critical role supporting global derivatives trading environments. If you thrive in fast-paced front-office settings and bring deep expertise across trading systems, market data, and DevOps engineering, we want to hear from you.
What We Need From You
- Strong understanding of major global futures exchanges
- Deep knowledge of the full exchange-traded derivatives lifecycle
- 8+ years' experience in Commodity Trading, Capital Markets, or Investment Banking
- Familiarity with market data providers (Bloomberg, Refinitiv, etc.) and liquidity aggregation platforms
- Understanding of financial regulations
- 8+ years' experience with real-time market data distribution platforms, feed handlers, and enterprise consolidated feeds
- 8+ years' experience with time-series analytics frameworks (kdb, shakti, or similar)
Role Overview
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be part of a small, high-performing global team responsible for mission-critical derivatives trading production environments. You'll work across product teams and engineering backlogs to enhance stability, performance, and resilience.
Your Responsibilities
- Proactively manage and optimise end-to-end trading workflows
- Collaborate closely with delivery and infrastructure teams to improve system stability
- Troubleshoot issues across development, support, and business user groups
- Act as a subject matter expert for trading systems and related initiatives
- Support scalable algorithmic trading technology in a compliant, flexible manner
- Contribute to regulatory, audit, and compliance efforts
- Participate in a global on-call rota supporting 24/7 trading operations
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven track record in application deployment best practices
- 10+ years' experience in front-office application support and vendor management
- Rapid incident response skills with the ability to turn quick fixes into long-term solutions
- Strong experience in system monitoring, troubleshooting, and reliability engineering
- Deep understanding of trading lifecycle: order capture, execution, allocation, settlement, compliance
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets
- Proficiency in scripting and programming (Python, PowerShell, C#, SQL, etc.)
- 8+ years' FIX Engineering experience
- Experience with exchange and vendor certification
- Knowledge of third-party networks and EMS/OMS vendors (TT, NYFIX, Bloomberg, TradingScreen)
- Experience with messaging systems and debugging network protocols (TCP, multicast)
- 8+ years' experience supporting market data distribution platforms (RTDS, DACS, ADH, ADS)
- Understanding of multicast traffic management, arbitration, and message queuing
- 5+ years' experience supporting time-series frameworks (kdb, shakti)
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication skills, able to interact confidently with traders, developers, and stakeholders
- Thrives under pressure in a trading-floor environment
- Proactive, self-motivated, and adaptable
- Comfortable working under tight deadlines and shifting priorities
