We are currently hiring a Senior C++ Engineer to join a high-performing front office technology team delivering low-latency derivatives trading systems for global markets. This role offers the opportunity to work at the cutting edge of algorithmic trading technology, partnering directly with traders, quants, and engineers to design and build high-performance systems that operate in real time.
The Role
- You will contribute to the development of a proprietary trading platform, working across areas such as:
- Exchange connectivity (market data + order execution)
- Low-latency trading engines
- Performance optimisation and system reliability
You’ll be part of a collaborative, fast-paced environment where engineering quality and system performance are critical.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimise high-performance C++ trading applications
- Build and maintain connectivity to global exchanges (FIX, WebSocket, APIs)
- Implement and enhance algorithmic trading strategies in collaboration with front office teams
- Improve system latency, throughput, and stability
- Troubleshoot production issues and ensure platform reliability
- Contribute to system monitoring, observability, and deployment processes
- Analyse exchange protocols and behaviour to maximise platform efficiency
Skills & Experience Required
- 5+ years C++ development experience within financial markets
- Strong knowledge of:
- Multithreading, concurrency, and distributed systems
- Data structures and algorithms
- Experience with:
- Exchange connectivity (FIX, native protocols)
- Low-latency system design and optimisation
- Solid understanding of the trading lifecycle (order execution, allocation, settlement)
- Additional programming experience (Python, SQL, PowerShell, C# etc.) is a plus
- Proven background in production support, monitoring, and troubleshooting
Industry Background
- 8+ years’ experience within trading, capital markets, or investment banking environments
- Strong understanding of: Exchange-traded derivatives lifecycle
