We’re partnering with a global leader in the games & entertainment industry to hire a Director, Business & Legal Affairs (Legal) into their London-based legal team. This is a senior, high-impact legal role supporting world-class game studios, technology and international publishing teams across the UK, EMEA and the US. You’ll sit at the heart of game development, technology, marketing and distribution — helping shape how major titles are created, launched and enjoyed worldwide.
The Role
- Lead negotiation of complex game development, technology, external development, vendor and talent agreements
- Support global marketing campaigns, brand partnerships, promotions, live events and influencer activations
- Advise on technology and software licensing, including open-source
- Support global distribution deals with platforms and international licensees
- Provide regulatory advice across digital services, online safety, AI regulation and product compliance
- Act as legal partner to UK studio operations and senior stakeholders
The Candidate
- We’re looking for a commercially minded lawyer who thrives in fast-paced, creative environments
- UK-qualified (or equivalent common law jurisdiction)
- 5+ years’ PQE in private practice or in-house
- Strong commercial contracts / transactional background
- Experience in media, entertainment, gaming or tech is highly desirable
- Confident working autonomously and partnering with senior stakeholders
- Comfortable working with US-based stakeholders across time zones
