The Opportunity

An established global IT and Digital Solutions organisation is looking for an early-career Full Stack Engineer to join its Automation & Analytics team in London. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong Python and SQL skills who wants to build broader expertise across software engineering, cloud, data engineering and AI-enabled applications.

Rather than focusing on one part of the technology stack, you'll work across backend services, APIs, databases, data pipelines and cloud environments, supporting real production applications and contributing to client projects.

Why this role?

  • You’ll gain hands-on exposure to:
    • AWS cloud & migration
    • Python development
    • SQL, databases & data platforms
    • Data pipelines & ETL/ELT
    • APIs & backend engineering
    • CI/CD & production systems
    • Analytics & modern data platforms
    • AI/ML and emerging AI technologies

It's a strong opportunity for someone early in their career who wants to develop into a well-rounded Full Stack / Data Engineer rather than being limited to a single technology.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Cloud & Platform Engineering
    • Support the migration of existing data services and applications from private infrastructure to AWS.
    • Deploy, operate and optimise services across AWS and Azure environments.
    • Monitor and troubleshoot production applications and data platforms.
  • Full Stack & Backend Development
    • Develop and maintain backend services using Python.
    • Design and integrate APIs and server-side applications.
    • Work with relational and non-relational databases.
    • Contribute to front-end development where required.
  • Data Engineering
    • Build, maintain and optimise data pipelines.
    • Develop ETL/ELT workflows and data integrations.
    • Work with data warehouses, data lakes and analytics-ready platforms.
    • Ensure data quality, reliability and performance.
  • Production & Delivery
    • Take ownership of existing production data applications, supporting and continuously improving them.
    • Investigate technical issues and perform root-cause analysis.
    • Use Git and CI/CD practices to deliver reliable software.
    • Document technical solutions, architectures and data flows.
  • Collaboration
    • Work alongside consultants, project managers, data scientists, AI engineers and analysts.
    • Translate business and client requirements into practical technical solutions.
    • Contribute to technical specifications, estimates, proof-of-concepts and project delivery.

What We're Looking For

  • Essential
    • 1–3 years' commercial experience in software engineering, full-stack development or data engineering.
    • Strong Python skills.
    • Strong SQL skills.
    • Experience with AWS and Azure cloud services, including deployment and operational support.
    • Hands‑on experience with data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data orchestration tools.
    • Experience working with production systems.
    • Experience developing backend services and/or REST APIs.
    • Experience with databases and data-intensive applications.
    • Familiarity with Git and CI/CD.
    • Commercial exposure to AWS and/or Azure, with AWS experience particularly valuable.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
    • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Desirable – Great Advantage But Not Essential
    • Experience with any of the following would strengthen your application:
    • Experience with front‑end web technologies and frameworks such as React and Next.js.
    • Experience with nextgen datawarehouse/data analytics platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks.

Your First 6 Months

You can expect to quickly become involved in meaningful production work, including:

  • AWS Cloud Migration
    • Support key elements of the migration of existing data applications and services to AWS.
  • Production Application Ownership
    • Learn, maintain, troubleshoot and optimise several core data applications.
  • Data & Database Engineering
    • Develop databases, data pipelines and data platforms supporting analytics and reporting.
  • Full-Stack Development
    • Contribute to backend APIs and services, with opportunities to work with front-end technologies.

Interview Process

We're moving quickly and aiming for a September 2026 start.

  • Stage 1: 30-minute technical & background discussion
  • Stage 2: Practical technical exercise + architecture discussion

Successful candidates will be progressed quickly, with offers made as soon as possible.

Interested?

If you have strong Python + SQL skills and experience with cloud, data pipelines or production applications, we'd love to hear from you. Apply directly with your latest CV and send me your CV with your approximate gross salary range expectation, your availability to interview immediately and ideal September start date.
