Templeton House Care Home in Ayr offers exceptional care for up to 69 residents in a picturesque and peaceful setting. Designed to feel like a true home, the environment combines warmth and comfort with modern amenities such as a cinema room and on-site hair salon. With a superb .uk rating of 9.9 and Care Inspectorate grades of 5, 4, 4, 5, and 5, we are proud to provide compassionate, high-quality care that supports dignity and wellbeing.

Templeton House is a 69-bed care home providing residential, nursing and dementia care across three dedicated communities. For many years, the home has been a trusted choice for families seeking high-quality care delivered with compassion, dignity and professionalism. Today, the home continues to benefit from an experienced core team, strong relationships within the local community and an excellent 9.9 .uk review score. Occupancy remains healthy, and agency usage is relatively low compared to many services across the sector in this region.

At the same time, we recognise there is more to achieve. Templeton House currently holds Care Inspectorate grades of 3, 4, 4, 5, 5, and while there are many strengths to build upon, we are looking for a leader who can drive greater consistency, strengthen clinical oversight, develop the team and continue improving the quality of care and resident experience. This is not a turnaround project. Nor is it a home that has reached its ceiling. It is a service with significant potential and a genuine opportunity for the right Home Manager to leave a legacy.

The Role: As Home Manager, you will take full responsibility for the leadership, performance and culture of the home. You will provide visible, hands-on leadership, creating an environment where residents receive outstanding care, colleagues feel valued and supported, and families have complete confidence in the service. Working closely with your Regional Director and wider support functions, you will lead the home through its next phase of development, focusing on quality, people, reputation and sustainable growth.

  • Driving improvements in quality and regulatory performance
  • Developing a high-performing and accountable leadership team
  • Strengthening nurse recruitment, retention and development
  • Enhancing resident and family experience
  • Increasing occupancy and community engagement
  • Embedding a positive, values-led culture throughout the home
  • Delivering strong operational and financial performance

Who We're Looking For: We're seeking an experienced and resilient leader who understands how to build confidence, create stability and inspire teams to achieve their best. You will be someone who:

  • Has previous experience as a Home Manager within a nursing, residential or dementia care setting
  • Has a strong track record of delivering quality improvements and positive inspection outcomes
  • Understands how to build and retain high-performing teams
  • Demonstrates excellent leadership, coaching and communication skills
  • Is commercially aware and confident managing budgets and occupancy
  • Builds positive relationships with residents, families, professionals and regulators
  • Is confident managing change whilst maintaining team engagement
  • Holds a nursing qualification (desirable but not essential)

Most importantly, you will be a visible leader who leads with integrity, compassion and accountability. You'll recognise and value the experience of long-serving colleagues while bringing fresh energy, clear expectations and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Why Templeton House? This is an opportunity to join a home with genuine strengths already in place:

  • A well-established service with a long-standing presence in the local community
  • A committed and experienced core team
  • Excellent resident and family feedback, reflected in a 9.9 .uk score
  • Low reliance on agency staffing
  • Significant opportunity to influence quality, culture and performance
  • Strong support from an experienced Regional Director and wider operational team

Why Join Care Concern Group? Care Concern Group is one of the UK's largest and fastest-growing care providers, with more than 140 services nationwide and over half located in Scotland. We are proud to:

  • Outperform national inspection averages by 10%
  • Successfully develop and grow high-quality care services across the UK
  • Invest in leadership development and career progression
  • Provide Home Managers with the autonomy to lead and the support to succeed
  • Foster a people-first culture built on care, innovation and integrity

Our Values: Trust | Respect | Passion | Kindness | Inclusivity. These values guide every decision we make and underpin everything we do.
