Job Description
Senior Technical Designer (Gaming & VR) – 2-Month with Extensions Urgent Contract
Location: Leamington Spa (Onsite 3 days/week) -> Coventry and Warwick are the nearest Cities!
Duration: 2 Months (Potential for extension!)
Competitive day rate as PAYE Contractor based on relevant years of experience £300 – £600 per day PAYE
Are you ready to shape the future of gaming? We're looking for a Senior Technical Designer to join an industry-leading gaming company and help bring immersive VR & mobile experiences to life!
What You'll Be Doing:
Design & Implement engaging gameplay experiences for VR, mobile, and PC
Script & Prototype fun, interactive elements using TypeScript (or similar)
Playtest & Iterate designs based on cross-platform user feedback
Work Closely with designers, artists, and UX teams to polish gameplay
Debug & Optimize performance for a seamless user experience
Must-Haves:
8-10 years in game Scripting or technical design
Strong TypeScript or similar Scripting experience
Knowledge of game architecture & common mechanics
Experience with Unity, Unreal Engine, or similar
Understanding of VR/MR & mobile gaming interactions
Proven track record of shipped game titles
Bonus Skills:
Live Ops or Games-as-a-Service experience
Exposure to Roblox, UGC editors, or modding
Familiarity with generative AI & interactive content creation
