Our planning and scheduling team are integral to the successful operation of the Asset Management contract we deliver to Teign Housing. Based in Newton Abbot, the Planner/Scheduler will work within a fast‑paced environment, meeting SLAs and KPIs to provide high‑quality housing repair and refurbishment services.

The Planner/Scheduler role:

You will receive calls and emails regarding the organisation and booking of residential repairs and minor refurbishment works on Teign Housing properties. You will also make outbound calls to residents to book essential compliance testing (gas, mechanical and electrical). In both streams you will liaise with residents and operational trade teams to deliver the best service.

Use the dynamic scheduling system to manage operative diaries, ensuring all works are carried out efficiently, within agreed timescales (SLAs) and keeping operatives fully utilised. Manage day‑to‑day work, handle emergencies and exceptions to deliver appropriate service to residents. Act as the first point of contact for customers and trade operatives, providing effective and swift resolutions. Enter accurate and complete notes for each job/task into the system to support contract performance tracking.

What will you bring as a Planner/Scheduler?

  • Demonstrable planning/scheduling experience, ideally from a fast‑paced, high‑volume telephone environment. Housing repairs experience is an advantage.
  • Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office) and the ability to learn new systems and follow processes consistently.
  • Excellent communication skills, ownership and accountability, with a decisive character.
  • Proactive and able to use initiative.
  • Determined, resilient and motivated, able to achieve targets independently and as part of a team.
