- Qualified rate: £16.59 per hour (£33,644.52 per annum)
About the Apprenticeship
As an Apprentice at Templer HomeBuild, you will learn on the job, gaining hands‑on experience while studying at college. You will be supported by experienced tradespeople, including a dedicated mentor, and work toward mastering your chosen trade.
Responsibilities
- Work on projects predominantly in social housing.
- Cover areas including Teignbridge and Torbay; locations may vary and you may travel further afield with transport support where possible.
- Serve as an apprentice Multi Trade Operative, working on jobs across a range of trades to repair and maintain properties.
- Rip out and prepare empty properties for new tenants.
- Perform planned and responsive repair work.
- Gain an overview of multiple trades including carpentry, electrical, plastering and plumbing, becoming a qualified Multi Trade Operative rather than specializing in a single trade.
- Work inside and outside in all weather conditions.
Additional Responsibilities
- Attend college one day a week to understand the theory of your trade.
- Build an evidence portfolio for your End Point Assessment (EPA).
- Be a valued team member and contribute to overall success.
Qualifications
- No prior experience needed.
- Have a genuine passion for multiple trades and practical, hands‑on work.
- Maintain a positive attitude and problem‑solving mindset.

- Strong organisational skills to juggle college and work.
- GCSE (or equivalent) grade 3(E) or above in Maths and English.
- Eligibility to work in the UK on a permanent basis (sponsorship not available).
- May need to obtain a driving licence eventually to travel to sites; driving licence not required straight away.
- Criminal records check required; we comply with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) code of practice.

Proposed start date is August 2026.
