This is a senior Finance Director appointment for a large national business, leading the finance function in the Exeter region. You will manage a team of 15 and act as the right hand to the Regional MD, playing a key role in both the day to day performance and the long term strategic direction of the business.
This is a commercially focused role where finance is expected to drive decision making, improve performance and support growth across the region.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, develop and mentor a finance team of 15, ensuring strong structure, accountability and progression
- Partner closely with the Regional MD, providing clear financial insight and challenge where needed
- Take ownership of budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
- Deliver accurate and timely management information with a focus on performance
- Support commercial decision making across operations, identifying risks and opportunities
- Improve financial controls, processes and reporting standards
- Work with the wider national finance team to align strategy, systems and best practice
- Play a key role in business planning, growth strategy and operational improvements
This is a visible leadership position within the region. You will be expected to influence senior stakeholders, support operational teams and ensure finance is a key driver of the business. You will balance hands on leadership with strategic input, ensuring delivery whilst shaping the bigger picture.
Candidate Profile- Qualified accountant, ACA, ACCA or CIMA
- Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role
- Experience managing and developing larger teams
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to influence beyond finance
- Comfortable working closely with senior leadership at MD level
- Able to operate in a fast paced environment
- Strong communication skills, able to simplify complex financial information
- Key leadership role within a large national business
