Location: Leeds Office Based

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000, depending on experience

About the Company:

An established, small and friendly financial services firm based in Leeds is looking to appoint an experienced Level 4 qualified Paraplanner to join their close-knit team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Paraplanner who is looking to take the next step in their career and progress towards becoming a Financial Adviser. The successful candidate will continue to undertake Paraplanning responsibilities while receiving the opportunity to develop their knowledge and experience as a Trainee Adviser.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality Paraplanning support to the Adviser and wider team
  • Prepare suitability reports, financial analysis and recommendations
  • Assist with pension, investment and protection-related cases
  • Support the Adviser with the management and servicing of an established client bank
  • Assist with new business processing and ongoing client reviews
  • Conduct research and analysis to support financial planning recommendations
  • Liaise with product providers and other third parties
  • Ensure all client documentation is accurate, compliant and completed within agreed timescales
  • Take on increasing responsibility for client relationships as experience develops
  • Work towards progressing into a Trainee Adviser position
  • Develop the skills and experience required to eventually provide regulated financial advice

What We're Looking For:

  • Level 4 Diploma qualified in Financial Planning
  • Previous experience working as a Paraplanner within financial services
  • Strong understanding of financial planning and investment products
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage workloads and work to deadlines
  • Professional, personable and confident when dealing with clients and colleagues
  • A proactive approach with the ability to work independently
  • Someone who is genuinely interested in progressing into a Financial Adviser role
  • Comfortable working within a small, family-run team environment
  • Willingness to work office-based in Leeds

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience using Intelligent Office (IO)
  • Experience using Defaqto
  • Experience supporting an Adviser with a varied client bank
  • Strong report-writing and analytical skills
  • Previous experience with pensions, investments and protection
  • A genuine ambition to progress into an Adviser role
