Role Description The Electrical Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Horley, responsible for preparing accurate electrical cost estimates for temporary site service projects across the construction sector. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing drawings and specifications, quantifying materials and labor, and developing detailed cost breakdowns and tender submissions. The role involves collaborating with project managers, engineers, and the wider operations team to clarify technical requirements, assess risks, and ensure estimates align with safety, compliance, and sustainability standards. The Electrical Estimator will analyze supplier and subcontractor quotations, support value engineering and cost control initiatives, and update estimate databases and records. The position also requires regular communication with clients and internal stakeholders to refine proposals and support successful project delivery from pre-contract through handover.
Qualifications
- Strong Electrical Estimating skills, including reading technical drawings and preparing detailed cost proposals.
- Experience with Cost Control and budgeting for construction or electrical contracting projects.
- Background in Electrical Contracting and practical understanding of site installation and temporary power solutions.
- Sound knowledge of Electricity systems and applicable standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
- Qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience in the field.
- Proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, and standard office tools for data analysis and reporting.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy under time constraints.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with project teams, suppliers, and clients.
- Experience within construction site services or temporary works is advantageous.
- Full UK work authorization and ability to work on-site in Horley on a regular basis.
