Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Schools, Colleges, and Centers, the executive director is a senior frontline fundraiser responsible for securing major and principal gifts. The role manages a selective portfolio of high‑capacity prospects, executes comprehensive fundraising strategies aligned with campaign goals, and works closely with Deans, Assistant Deans, faculty, and university leadership to translate funding priorities into compelling opportunities.
Travel disclosure: Approximately 50% of this position involves travel throughout the Philadelphia metropolitan area and targeted regions across the country. Performs other duties as assigned.
This position requires background checks for Cash Handling and Personally Identifiable Information.
Required Education And Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- At least seven years of progressively responsible experience in major gift fundraising, preferably within higher education or a complex nonprofit.
- Demonstrated success in securing six‑ and seven‑figure gifts.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills And Abilities:
- Strong track record of closing major gifts.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship‑building skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across a complex, matrixed organization.
- Strategic thinking and planning capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
