Temple University's Athletics Department is searching for an Assistant Women's Rowing Coach.
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Head Women's Rowing Coach, the Assistant Coach aids in developing a competitive Women's Rowing program at the Division I level. The primary role involves instructing student-athletes in Women's Rowing, focusing on fundamentals, leading practices and meetings from Monday to Friday, and preparing for competitions. The Assistant Women's Rowing Coach supports the Head Coach by providing leadership and integrity to the program. Responsibilities include creating, planning, organizing, teaching, motivating, communicating, and managing recruiting, practices, competitions, student-athletes, and booster clubs. The coach must reflect the values of the University, the Department, and the sport, on and off the field, and comply with NCAA regulations, demonstrated by passing the NCAA Coaches Exam. Additional duties may be assigned.
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree and at least two years of collegiate coaching or athletic experience, with knowledge of NCAA Division I rules. Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
- NCAA Division I experience.
- Budget development and allocation experience.
- Fundraising experience.
- Experience with boat trailer transportation, rigging, and maintenance.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Ability to assist with budgeting, scheduling, meal planning, coaching, recruiting, scouting, and equipment care.
- Ability to implement policies for Women's Rowing personnel and athletes.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Problem-solving, leadership, and team-building skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability to work nights and weekends.
- Strong integrity and knowledge of NCAA, Conference, and University rules.
- Valid U.S. driver's license or ability to obtain one, with a good driving record.
