Responsibilities
- Support the Central Production Unit in delivering and preparing raw materials, processing, chilling, and freezing in compliance with strict procedures using high‑volume cooking and chilling/freezing equipment.
- Report to the Kitchen Superintendent/Production Manager while independently following standard operating procedures and seeking guidance when necessary.
- Maintain detailed control of time and temperature during food transportation.
- Perform cleaning duties as directed by the supervisor in line with all legislative requirements.
- Carry out duties across all sections of the CPU, including preparation, cleaning, and equipment maintenance.
- Clean, store, and periodically clean equipment, provisions, crockery, cutlery, and utensils in a safe and hygienic manner, including wall washing and floor cleaning.
- Document and complete temperature forms to ensure compliance with legislation and operational accuracy.
- Observe and maintain high standards of personal hygiene, confidentiality, courtesy, and consideration for all staff.
- Ensure segregation and prompt removal of waste to designated collection points following the University Health Board Safe Waste Handling Procedure.
- Maintain and clean all equipment according to the daily cleaning schedule, including use of dishwashers, pot‑wash machines, scrubbing machines, and pressure cleaners.
Qualifications
- Welsh skills desirable: Speaking & Listening level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Fluency is not required; basic conversation in Welsh is sufficient for short‑listing and selection.
