The role is to lead the CT service at Royal Glamorgan Hospital or Princess of Wales Hospital within the Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board. Two CT Superintendent posts are available, one for each site.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational management of the CT department and coordination of the department’s workload to ensure examinations are scheduled within clinically appropriate timescales.
- Leading and training new CT staff, ensuring the team adheres to organisational policies, procedures, local rules and I(R(ME)R duty holder entitlements.
- Managing staff personal development reviews and absence management in line with policy.
- Ensuring all CT equipment is maintained in accordance with manufacturer guidance, reporting faults promptly to minimise downtime.
- Working in partnership with CT Superintendent Radiographers across the Health Board to standardise CT working practices and support service delivery.
- Providing clinical leadership, teaching and facilitating continuous improvement activities for the CT team.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Strong clinical, leadership and teaching skills to deliver a first‑class, patient‑centred service.
- Specialist knowledge of CT technology and an innovative approach to service delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to manage equipment and maintain service standards.
- Flexibility to work across both hospital sites and collaborate with team members across the Health Board.
- Welsh language ability desirable but not mandatory; bilingual or English‑only candidates are welcome.
- Legal and statutory competency in line with NHS Wales requirements.
