Responsible for the day-to-day operational running of an imaging department or modality. Providing professional leadership to registered and non-registered staff. Ensuring provision of a comprehensive, efficient, relevant and cost-effective radiology service within your area of responsibility. Ensure the highest and equitable standards of quality, patient safety and clinical governance are adhered to ensuring there is a high standard of clinical care delivered to all patients at a local level. To act as the lead specialist radiographer for a designated area providing highly specialist radiographic services.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operational running of an imaging department or modality.
  • Providing professional leadership to registered and non-registered staff.
  • Ensuring provision of a comprehensive, efficient, relevant and cost-effective radiology service within your area of responsibility.
  • Ensure the highest and equitable standards of quality, patient safety and clinical governance are adhered to ensuring there is a high standard of clinical care delivered to all patients at a local level.
  • To act as the lead specialist radiographer for a designated area providing highly specialist radiographic services.
  • Responsible for direct line management of the area/section Leads working within the department and for establishing and maintaining effective structures and systems of control for the management of staff, including recruitment, appraisal, development and support of the organisational HR policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for equipment and asset management within your area.
  • Responsible for regulatory compliance for your area.
  • Authorised signatory for delegated budget.
