The predicted salary is between 26500 - 32000 £ per year.
The successful candidate will work within a 24‑bedded ward delivering a high standard of care to all patients. You will be part of the Cardiology team, with opportunities to develop your skills and knowledge by caring for acute cardiac patients, including those previously admitted to the Cardiac Care Unit. The post is rotational between day and night duty (except in the Day Care Unit). Welsh speaking & listening skills at Level 3 or above are desirable but not essential.
Job Summary
- Work within a 24‑bedded cardiology ward at Prince Charles Hospital.
- Provide holistic care, anticipate and respond quickly to complications, and collaborate across the Cardiology services, including the Cardiac Day Care Unit.
Job Responsibilities
- Deliver holistic and compassionate care to all cardiology patients.
- Anticipate, recognise and rapidly respond to unpredictable problems or complications.
- Support patients in rehabilitation across all cardiac services.
- Maintain accurate patient records and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Adhere to the Health Board's shift system, which may include 12.5‑hour shifts with paid breaks.
Person Specification
Essential
- Previous experience of working in a ward environment.
- Active UK NMC registration.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team.
Desirable
- Experience of charging a ward or department.
- Welsh Language speaking/listening skills at Level 3 or above.
- Experience with IV devices, IV additives, and ILS.
Additional Requirements
- Compliance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
- Disclosure and Barring Service check as required.
- Current UK professional registration.
