Are you a graduate with a science-based degree?

You will support an expanding and growing business in delivering services to clients, your principal role will manage and delivery the workflow of Asbestos samples for preparation, analysis via Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM )and reporting as well as assisting in the weekly running of the laboratory.

Typical working hours are 2pm to 10pm.

Summary of duties for Asbestos Technician to include but not limited to: laboratory focused duties, including preparation and analysis of samples in adherence to strict analytical and quality standards.

Perform analysis using microscopes or SEM Data entry of all results collected from analysis carried out.

Formulating and writing asbestos analysis reports Responsible for the efficiency and output of the laboratory Laboratory housekeeping cleaning and maintaining stock levels Requirements for the Asbestos Technician Ideally experience of working in UKAS asbestos accredited laboratory around 2 years Scientific/Maths A-levels or HND or Degree in a science discipline Ability to manage own workload, work under pressure and to multiple deadlines You will need to be pro-active, have excellent eyesight and be of calm and patient nature with ability to analytical problem solve.

You will need to be IT literate and have experience of using MS Word and Excel.

Experience / knowledge of working with microscopes or Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), is desirable, as would previous experience within a lab environment.

You will be required to have good communication skills both written and verbal and be able to work well with colleagues across all areas of the business.
