Summary of duties for Asbestos Sample technician include but are not limited to:
- Laboratory focused duties, including sample management & preparation and analysis of samples in adherence to strict analytical and quality standards.
- Perform analysis using microscopes or SEM.
- Data entry of all results collected from analysis carried out.
- Formulating and writing asbestos analysis reports.
- Responsible for the efficiency and output of the laboratory.
- Laboratory housekeeping, cleaning and maintaining stock levels.
Requirements to be an Asbestos Sample technician:
- Experience/knowledge of working with microscopes or Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) is essential.
- Previous experience of working in an accredited laboratory.
- Qualification: Scientific/Maths A-levels or HND or Degree in a science discipline.
- Ability to manage own load, work under pressure and to multiple deadlines.
- Pro-active, excellent eyesight, calm and patient nature with the ability to analytically problem solve.
- IT literate with experience of using MS Word and Excel.
- Good communication skills both written and verbal, able to work well with colleagues across all areas of the business.
