My client continues to grow and is a highly specialised independent analytical service provider servicing a wide range of multinational companies across all sectors. The current position has arisen within the Spectroscopy function for an experienced application scientist with Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), SEM/EDX and FTIR to support the service and development of client projects.
The role will be involved in:
- Being the matter expert for Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), SEM/EDX and FTIR microscope
- Experienced at handling and preparing a wide variety of sample matrices
- Ability to perform hands-on troubleshooting with Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), SEM/EDX
- Expert at sample and data interpolation
- Hands-on for instrument troubleshooting
- Excellent report writing skills
- Strong communication skills with internal and external clients
To be considered for this opportunity you must have:
- Ideally a Degree or PhD in physical chemistry or materials science or equivalent
- 5 years of operating and using Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), SEM/EDX and FTIR instruments
- Ability to work within a team, analytical experience and how you meet workload deadlines
You will be required to deliver work to a high quality, working efficiently and within time and be able to work without supervision. A positive approach to new methods, equipment and problem solving are required. A number of years solving industry analytical problems within legal, manufacturing or development.
