About the Role: We are seeking a proactive and experienced Business Operations Team Manager to join our Children and Family Services team at Enfield Council. In this critical role, you will lead and manage a team of Business Support Officers to ensure high-quality, efficient administrative support across five key service areas. You will be responsible for overseeing workloads, managing performance, coordinating key meetings, and driving improvements in service delivery. The role demands a strong leader with operational insight, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and motivate a team of up to 12 Business Support Officers
  • Ensure effective distribution of tasks to support statutory and high-volume areas
  • Coordinate and attend Board and senior-level meetings, including minuting and follow-up
  • Provide regular performance reports and data analysis to the Service Manager
  • Support continuous service improvement by reviewing and implementing better processes
  • Work collaboratively across departments to ensure seamless service support
  • Provide backup coverage for tasks when team capacity is stretched
  • Develop team members to be multi-skilled and agile across Children and Family services

  • Demonstrated success in performance management and leading teams
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to analyse and report on key performance metrics
  • Experience implementing change and service improvements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility to occasionally work evenings (approx. 4 times/year or as needed)

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Children and Family Services
  • Experience managing capability or supporting performance processes
  • ILM or equivalent management qualification
