We are currently recruiting reliable and caring Passenger Assistants to join our growing school transport team. The successful candidates will be responsible for supporting children travelling to and from school, ensuring their safety, comfort and wellbeing throughout the journey.
Key Requirements
- Previous experience working with children is preferred
- A valid DBS check or willingness to undergo a DBS check
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Friendly, patient and professional attitude
- Reliable and punctual
- Ability to work well with children and respond calmly to their needs
- Understanding of safeguarding and child safety requirements
- Ability to work flexible hours, particularly during school drop-off and collection times
- Previous experience in a school, childcare, transport or care environment is advantageous
Key Responsibilities
- Safely accompany children to and from school on designated transport
- Ensure children board and leave the vehicle safely
- Support children throughout the journey and help them remain comfortable and settled
- Monitor children and report any concerns regarding their safety or wellbeing
- Assist children who may require additional support during their journey
- Ensure children are handed over safely to the appropriate parent, guardian, school or authorised person
- Maintain a professional and caring approach at all times
- Follow company policies, safeguarding procedures and health & safety requirements
- Communicate effectively with drivers, schools, parents and guardians where required
- Report any incidents, concerns or changes in circumstances to the appropriate member of staff
