The Client is a market leading hedge fund business that focuses on Systematic Trading strategies. They operate a fully virtualised infrastructure using VMware and Microsoft Azure to host a mix of Microsoft Windows and Linux servers running both third party and in-house applications. The on-premises hardware platform is built on Dell Compute, Pure Storage, Cisco networking, and a resilient 10Gbps WAN connecting our datacenter locations and cloud providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake project work to improve and evolve the technology infrastructure.
  • Projects will typically include designing and deploying upgrades or design changes to major infrastructure components, or introducing new systems into the business.
  • Work on projects as required and lead smaller initiatives wherever possible.
  • Support, maintain and operate the firm’s critical technology infrastructure, including being involved in on-call rotas.

Required Skills:

  • IaaS principles with specific knowledge and experience of Microsoft Azure.
  • Microsoft identity services, including Active Directory and Entra.
  • Windows Server and desktop, File Services, DNS, Group Policy.
  • Working knowledge of IP networking concepts.
  • Strong general IT skills, especially Excel and other Office products.
  • Experience of supporting users in a Windows environment.
  • An aptitude for learning and supporting unfamiliar technologies.
