Tempest Vane Partners are working with a leading global investment firm to hire a Senior Software Engineer into its Platform Engineering function. This is a high-impact role focused on building the identity and access infrastructure underpinning research and live trading, with a strong emphasis on scale, performance and reliability.
The Role
- You’ll design and build critical authentication and authorisation platforms used across the firm's technology estate.
- The role sits at the intersection of distributed systems, security, infrastructure and AI, with exposure to emerging challenges around identity for AI agents, workloads and non-human services.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and evolve large-scale authentication and authorisation platforms.
- Develop identity solutions for users, services, workloads and AI agents.
- Engineer real-time systems handling tens of millions of requests daily.
- Build developer tooling incorporating LLMs and intelligent agents.
- Develop SDKs, frameworks and self-service tooling for engineers.
- Drive automation, observability, CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code.
- Work closely with Infrastructure, InfoSec and Applied AI teams.
- Contribute to production support and incident response.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years building and architecting production software.
- Strong Go and Python development experience.
- Deep knowledge of authentication and authorisation.
- Experience with OAuth 2.0, JWT, SpiceDB or OpenFGA.
- Strong distributed systems and high-throughput engineering experience.
- Experience with Kubernetes and containers.
- Strong architecture and systems-design capability.
- Exposure to agentic AI tooling/SDKs.
- Excellent technical communication and documentation skills.
