Senior Front-End Software Engineer | Hedge Fund | LondonTempest Vane Partners is working with a leading global investment firm to identify a Senior Front-End Software Engineer to join their Investment Tooling UI team in London.This is a great opportunity to work in a fast paced, technically sophisticated environment, building software used directly by portfolio managers, quant researchers and systematic investment teams.You’ll join a small, highly skilled team with significant autonomy, working closely with backend engineers, designers and senior business stakeholders. The team’s remit spans the firm's core front-office platform, systematic investment tooling, shared UI libraries and new AI initiatives.Key Requirements5+ years’ commercial front-end engineering experience (ideally in financial markets, but not industry experience is not required)Strong React, Redux, CSS and TypeScript expertiseIn depth knowledge of GraphQLA deep understanding of React performance and optimisationExperience with real-time streaming data – WebSockets, gRPC, SSE or similarStrong UI engineering skills and an appreciation for high-fidelity designExperience with Jest, Vitest, Playwright or similarHands on experience with AI tooling and agentic development methodologiesFor the right engineer, this is an opportunity to work on high-impact technology, alongside exceptional engineers, with genuine influence over architecture, tooling and product direction.
