One of London's most prestigious technology driven hedge funds have partnered with Tempest Vane Partners in the search for a highly skilled Platform Engineer to join their Site Reliability Engineering team here in London. This team is central to the business as they are responsible for the technology that underpins everything the company does, from scaling huge volumes of data for their research processes to improving the speed and reliability of their application stack.

The successful Platform Engineer will work with many teams across the fund and be responsible for building a highly advanced and secure Kubernetes platform which handles massive volumes of data as well as driving "Infrastructure as Code" best practices, automation and migrating the stack to a more cloud native, distributed environment.

Key Requirements
  • Very strong scripting/coding skills in one or more programming language
  • Expert level skills in cloud native and containerisation technologies (Kubernetes/Docker/Openshift)
  • In depth knowledge of Linux systems
  • Extensive experience with CI/CD tooling such as GitLab
  • Broad knowledge of other areas of infrastructure such as Networking, Virtualisation and Storage systems.
  • Experience with observability systems such as Prometheus, ELK and Jaegar
  • Prior experience building developer tooling in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills - This role involves a lot of interaction with business users, senior stakeholders and many other technology teams
