Tempest Vane Partners have partnered with a systematic hedge fund who are known to be at the forefront of technology and innovation. They have recently opened a new role in their Quant Platform team for a junior-mid level Software Engineer to join their London office and work on building the main portfolio management platform, frameworks and data layers used by trading teams across many asset classes to make investment decisions.
This is a high impact engineering role where you will work directly with Researchers and other technology teams to build containerised C# applications and a platform that enables storage,
transformation, and testing of data at scale. The successful applicant should have a minimum of 1 year's experience working with C# and exposure to other languages such as Python and C++. Exposure to modern architecture and technologies such as AWS, Kubernetes, Docker and Kafka would be highly advantageous.
Key Requirements
- 2.1 degree or higher in a STEM subject from a top university (Computer Science preferred but similar degree's will be considered)
- 1-4 years of commercial Software Development experience using C# and other languages such as Python and/or C++
- Comfortable using agentic AI coding tools such as Claude Code and a genuine interest in using them as a natural part of daily work
- Experience building systems for cloud-based storage and processing large datasets with tools like Spark, Parquet or Arrow
- Knowledge of cloud and containerisation technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes and AWS
- Experience working as a Software Developer in the financial markets sector (desirable but not required)
