Tempest Resourcing are currently recruiting for a dedicated SEN Teacher to join a specialist complex needs school in Lambeth. The school supports pupils with a range of needs including Autism (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and complex communication needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and supporting pupils with high levels of additional needs.
The Role
As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering personalised learning to small classes of pupils with complex needs, focusing on communication, life skills, sensory learning and academic development. You will work closely with Teaching Assistants, therapists and the wider SEN team to ensure each pupil receives the support they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to complex needs learners
- Create a safe, structured and engaging classroom environment
- Work towards EHCP targets and individual learning outcomes
- Collaborate with SENCOs, therapists and support staff
- Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies where needed
- Promote communication, independence and social development
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience teaching pupils with SEN / complex needs / autism / SLD / PMLD
- Strong understanding of EHCPs and personalised learning approaches
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
