A well-established Academy in Barnet (Edgware area) is seeking dedicated and compassionate support staff to work across its Primary and Sixth Form settings, with a strong focus on Special Educational Needs (SEN) support.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about making a difference to young people's lives and who have experience supporting children and young people with additional needs.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months' experience working with children or young people
  • Experience or interest in supporting SEN (ASD, ADHD, SEMH, sensory needs, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills, patience, and emotional awareness
  • Must hold a DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply)
  • Based in Barnet or willing to travel to the area
  • Available at least 3 days per week (5 days preferred) during school hours

Role Overview

  • Full-time, long-term positions available
  • Working hours: 8:30am - 4:00pm
  • Based across Primary and Secondary sites within the Academy
  • Immediate starts and September placements available

Your Responsibilities

  • Providing 1:1 and small group SEN support
  • Supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, sensory and emotional regulation needs
  • Helping pupils engage positively in learning and school life
  • Using strategies to manage behaviour, build confidence, and encourage independence
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
  • Supporting learning both inside and outside the classroom (including calm/sensory spaces and outdoor learning)
  • Creating a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for pupils
