Overview

I am currently recruiting for a Physiotherapist to work with my client in Torbay. This is an urgent requirement with an immediate start available. The Pulmonary Rehabilitation Physiotherapist will be responsible for assessing, planning, and delivering the physical activity and exercise components of a structured 6-week community-based pulmonary rehabilitation programme for patients with chronic respiratory conditions. The role focuses on improving functional capacity, mobility, and quality of life through evidence-based exercise prescription, education, and rehabilitation strategies.

Requirements

  • HCPC Registered
  • At least 3 years' experience within pulmonary rehab

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate the exercise component of a 6-week pulmonary rehabilitation course in a community setting
  • Design and tailor individualised exercise programmes based on clinical presentation, comorbidities, and patient goals
  • Lead and supervise group-based exercise sessions in line with best practice and pulmonary rehabilitation guidelines
  • Progress and adapt exercise programmes safely according to patient response and clinical indicators
  • Monitor patient performance, oxygen saturation (if applicable), and symptoms during exercise sessions
  • Identify contraindications to exercise and respond appropriately to clinical risk or patient deterioration
