A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Southwark is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Nursery Nurse to join their Early Years team. This role involves working within the Nursery/Reception setting, supporting young children at a crucial stage of their development.

The successful candidate will support children's learning, development, and wellbeing, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN). You will play an important role in creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing early years environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support children's learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support, including for children with additional needs
  • Assist with phonics, early literacy, numeracy, and play-based learning activities
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional development
  • Support children's social and communication skills
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider Early Years team
  • Ensure safeguarding, health, and safety procedures are followed at all times
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years (or equivalent)
  • Experience working within a Nursery or Early Years setting
  • A strong understanding of the EYFS framework
  • Experience supporting children with SEN (desirable)
  • A nurturing, patient, and proactive approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
