We are currently recruiting an experienced Behaviour Mentor to work full time in a specialist SEMH school in Manchester. This is a rewarding opportunity for a proactive and resilient individual who is passionate about supporting young people with complex social, emotional and mental health needs.

The Role:

  • Supporting students with SEMH needs including (but not limited to) depression, trauma, anxiety, PTSD and challenging behaviour
  • Implementing behaviour and emotional regulation strategies to promote positive choices and prevent dysregulation
  • Building strong, positive relationships with students to encourage engagement and progress
  • Providing support both inside and outside the classroom
  • Actively engaging pupils who may be disengaged from learning
  • Working closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to support individual behaviour plans

Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (essential)
  • Minimum 6 months UK-based experience working with young people or vulnerable individuals with SEMH needs
  • Proven experience managing and supporting challenging behaviour
  • Ability to remain calm, consistent and empathetic in high-pressure situations
  • Proactive, resilient and committed to making a positive impact
