We are currently recruiting an experienced Behaviour Mentor to work full time in a specialist SEMH school in Manchester. This is a rewarding opportunity for a proactive and resilient individual who is passionate about supporting young people with complex social, emotional and mental health needs.
The Role:
- Supporting students with SEMH needs including (but not limited to) depression, trauma, anxiety, PTSD and challenging behaviour
- Implementing behaviour and emotional regulation strategies to promote positive choices and prevent dysregulation
- Building strong, positive relationships with students to encourage engagement and progress
- Providing support both inside and outside the classroom
- Actively engaging pupils who may be disengaged from learning
- Working closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to support individual behaviour plans
Requirements:
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (essential)
- Minimum 6 months UK-based experience working with young people or vulnerable individuals with SEMH needs
- Proven experience managing and supporting challenging behaviour
- Ability to remain calm, consistent and empathetic in high-pressure situations
- Proactive, resilient and committed to making a positive impact
