Tempest Education are working with a Primary School in Wavertree, Liverpool. This is a warm and inviting school and the heartbeat of the Wavertree Community. The School are looking to appoint the Teaching Assistant as soon as possible to work on a 1:1 basis within KS1 (Year 2).
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and SEN staff to provide personalised support for students with SEN, ensuring they receive the assistance they need to thrive in their education. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the implementation of personalised learning plans for SEN students
- Offering 1:1 and small group support for children with ASD
- Helping create a nurturing, positive, and inclusive learning environment
- Supporting classroom activities and adapting resources to meet students' needs
- Encouraging social, emotional, and academic development
- Collaborating with teachers, SEN coordinators, and other professionals to deliver targeted interventions
Requirements:
- Experience working with children, especially those with SEN within a specialist School is highly desirable
- Patience, compassion, and a positive approach to supporting children's learning
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for working in education and helping children succeed
- An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
- Minimum 6 months experience within a School environment
