The London Borough of Harrow is looking for a dedicated Housing Occupational Therapist to assess disabled residents and their carers, ensuring appropriate housing adaptations are delivered to support independence and wellbeing. You will manage a varied caseload, including housing applications, major adaptations, property suitability assessments, and complex Carers Assessments under the Care Act 2014.
As a specialist advisor, you will provide guidance and training to housing staff, contribute to the design of accessible housing, and help ensure services deliver excellent outcomes and value for money. This is a mobile role involving regular home visits across the borough.
Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
- HCPC registration
- Enhanced DBS check
- Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and relevant legislation
- Experience completing assessments and maintaining professional records
- Full UK driving licence
- Access to a vehicle for work purposes
- Ability to manage the physical demands of the role, including fitting low-level equipment
