We are seeking a compassionate and proactive Behaviour Mentor to join our team in Horley on a permanent basis, supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

About the Role

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will provide tailored support to students, helping them develop positive behaviours, build resilience, and engage fully in their learning. You will work closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and families to create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to support learning and personal development.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with students, promoting trust and engagement.
  • Monitor, record, and report on student progress and behavioural improvements.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SEN staff, and external agencies to meet student needs.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or other additional needs.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship‑building skills.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and pastoral care.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting students.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain).
