Tempest Charities are recruiting for a Senior Community Fundraiser based in Wales, on behalf of a well-known and highly respected national health research and support charity. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced community fundraiser ready to take the next step in their career, moving into a more senior relationship-focused role with real scope to make an impact.

What the role involves:

  • At the heart of this role is relationship building. Approximately 50% is dedicated to a high-profile, nationally recognised retail partnership - working at store level across Wales to deepen engagement, inspire fundraising activity, and grow income through strong stakeholder relationships.
  • The remaining 50% focuses on developing a regional portfolio of new supporters - individuals, clubs, societies, and local businesses - managing mid to high value supporters and creating long-term fundraising relationships built on trust and excellent stewardship.

  • Proven community or relationship fundraising experience, ready to step up into a more senior remit.
  • A natural relationship builder - someone who genuinely connects with people and knows how to develop those connections into long-term partnerships.
  • Track record of securing new fundraising opportunities from scratch and delivering income growth.
  • Experience managing mid to high value supporters.
  • Strong influencing and communication skills, face to face and remotely.
  • Ability to achieve income targets and report on KPIs.
  • Full clean driving licence and access to a vehicle - essential.
  • Cardiff-based or strong knowledge of the surrounding area.
  • Welsh language skills desirable but not essential.

The detail:

  • 28 hours per week across 4 days.
  • Hybrid working with 2 days in a Cardiff city centre office.
  • 12-month fixed term contract with the potential to become permanent.
  • Immediate start available.
