The Role
We are looking for an experienced Regional Financial Planning Manager to take responsibility for the performance and day to day operation of multiple offices across Aberdeen, Dundee and Nairn.
This is a broad leadership position overseeing Financial Advisers alongside Paraplanners and Administrators, ensuring individuals and teams are performing effectively in line with the firm’s expectations and consistently delivering strong outcomes for clients.
The successful individual will have responsibility for both people performance and operational effectiveness working in collaboration with team leaders across the region.
Key accountabilities
- Overseeing the performance, conduct, behaviours and KPIs of Financial Advisers across Aberdeen, Dundee and Nairn, ensuring the required standards are met.
- Holding regular performance conversations and ensuring agreed actions are followed through.
This is not a T&C role, however.
Recognising high performers and helping individuals develop further.
- Working together with office managers and technical team leaders, overseeing the performance of Paraplanners and Administrators across the three locations, ensuring support teams are operating efficiently and providing Advisers with an effective level of service with the required adherence to internal and external processes and compliance requirements.
- Monitoring operational KPIs, workloads, service standards and productivity.
- Ensuring teams work collaboratively across offices.
- Developing a strong, accountable and performance focused culture.
- Ensuring behaviours across the offices reflect the standards and values expected by the firm.
- Identifying operational challenges, inefficiencies and bottlenecks and implementing improvements.
- Working closely with senior management to provide visibility of regional performance.
- Supporting recruitment, development and retention of high-quality people.
- Helping create consistency in processes and ways of working across the three offices.
- What We’re Looking For in the Regional Financial Planning Manager
This business is deliberately open minded about the background of the successful individual.
You may currently be an Operations Manager within a Financial Planning or Wealth Management practice who is ready to take on responsibility for managing and developing Financial Advisers.
Alternatively, you may be an experienced Adviser Manager, Regional Manager or Performance Manager who is comfortable broadening your responsibilities to include the wider operational performance of Paraplanners, Administrators and multiple offices.
Regardless of the size of business you have been working in, we are keen to speak with you should you meet the above remit.
Key requirements
- Previous management experience within Financial Planning or Wealth Management.
- Strong understanding of how a successful Financial Planning practice operates.
- Experience managing people, performance and KPIs, be they advisers or support staff.
- Confidence working with Financial Advisers and challenging performance or behaviours when required.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Comfortable operating across multiple offices and managing teams remotely as well as face to face.
- Ability to build credibility with experienced Financial Advisers and support professionals.
