In this role, you will play a pivotal part in developing cutting-edge renewable energy infrastructure, from wind farms and solar installations to battery energy storage systems - from inception to completion, ensuring each project adheres to budget constraints and quality standards. As an integral team member, you will provide strategic guidance, risk analysis, and cost-effective solutions to clients ranging from major large renewable power developers and owners to medium-sized developers in the renewable power sector.

Key responsibilities:
- Support renewable energy developers throughout the project lifecycle, from early development phases through procurement and construction delivery.
- Develop comprehensive cost models following project feasibility studies.
- Lead the client-side construction procurement processes for wind farm, solar farm and battery storage projects across the UK.
- Prepare tender documentation and manage tender evaluations.
- Provide commercial guidance on contract strategy and risk allocation.
- Administer contracts under NEC and/or FIDIC frameworks.
- Deliver cost management services during construction phase.
- Produce regular cost reports and forecasts.
- Manage change control processes and evaluate variations.
- Provide value engineering solutions to optimise project costs.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across both civil engineering and M&E disciplines.
- Advise clients on commercial risks and opportunities throughout project development and delivery.
- Ensure project commercial governance and compliance with contractual requirements.

Key requirements:
- A quantity surveying background. You may be seeking a QS role or a Senior QS level opportunity.
- Proven experience in pre-contract services and procurement processes on construction projects.
- MIRICs or willing to work towards obtaining it.
- Knowledge of NEC and/or FIDIC contract frameworks.
- Experience in tender preparation, evaluation and contract negotiation.
- Ability to manage commercial aspects of civil engineering and M&E works.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective client relationships.
- Willingness to travel to project sites across the UK.
- Willingness to work from home and attend site visits as required across the UK (expenses paid).
- Previous experience within the renewable energy sector (wind farms, solar farms or battery storage) would be an advantage but not essential.
